I love to read, sometimes I think I "eat books". I have joined "book crossing" which is absolutely free and a good way of recycling your paperbacks/hardbacks. Log on to www.bookcrossing.com (http://www.bookcrossing.com) to join up. The idea is you register your book and are given a BCID number for it, from there you can release it into the wilds and hope that a fellow book lover will pick it up, read it and pass it on.

To date, I have left books in hotel rooms, park benches and 2 pubs! Is there any other book lovers out there who would like to set up a bookcrossing pick up/collect point in Langstone? :)

Hi Jay, I loved the book swapping idea, however, as a mum of two young children I just don't get the time these days, (happy and distant memories)!!
Great idea for children book swap though.

Thought I would jump on your bandwagon and wondered if any other mums/dads/carers on Ger-Y-Parc would be interested in swapping DVD's?

Mine are still a bit young but maybe another suggestion of X-Box/PSP swaps etc...one way of surviving the long, hopefully hot, summer!

Love to hear what others think.

Shan, great idea and I hope you get your DVD swopping off the ground. Any possibility it could encompass all ages as I have lots of DVD's that have lain in a box for months which perhaps someone else might enjoy. :)

It's been a while since your posting so how are you doing? You would think that with so many people "out there" some one would want to swop a book or a dvd!! Lots of people hitting on the site but not many people actually participating. Who is going to get this thing started? I have a few books not only for swops but for "give away" - Anyone interested?

Hi Jay, sorry for the delay in replying. Took the children away for a total of 3 1/2 weeks out of the 6 and the final week was all about preparing for "big school"!!
Noone replied to either idea, (yours and mine).
Still love the idea of swapping/recycling just don't think we've got the numbers yet.
Paul and I are focussing on increasing awareness and membership of the site. (Thanks for all your help with this). Hopefully we can revisit the ideas again soon. (Christmas is coming)!!!!!!
