As local parents on this site will know, Langstone school has recently introduced a new parking policy for the car park. Following complaints from several parents about double parking, the car park is now monitored by a staff member and the gates closed once the car park reaches capacity.

This has resulted in parents now parking along Tregarn Rd and walking their children up the hill to school.

I'm interested to know how parents are finding this new system?, better?, worse?, no real difference?

 One again lazy and selfish parents are causing problems at the school. I have seen people park on the pavements on Tregarn Road and even block residents drive ways. Parents also park at the bottom of Robin lane which causes visability problems to those trying to get onto Tregarn Road. They even try to park on the zig zags where the police bollards are. It just beggers belief how stupid these idiots area.

The new car park was also being abused that is why it has to be managed by the car taker. Parents were double parking and causing obstructions. This meant that cars coming in had to reverse out into the lane because there was no room to turn around.

Whilst the blocking off of the top car park has ceased some problems on the Old Roman. It has only basically moved the problem down to the bottom. Hopefully the police will be in attendance more often and issue the offenders with fixed penalties

The police were there this morning, as well as Simon Lane. I'll post more details after I've spoken to the wife.
