1st Wentwood Scouts; Gwent Accordion Club; Marion Pearce School of Dance and Saxforfun.

Raffle prizes: Sunday Lunch for two at the Hilton Hotel; meal for two at the New Inn Motel and Restaurant; 4 day passes for the leisure suite at the Celtic Manor Resort; a signed Wales football team jersey, and more . . . proceeds to Village Hall Restoration Fund.

A MAGICAL EVENING

The festive fun began when Langstone Community Council hosted a Christmas concert at the Village Hall for residents, their families and friends.

The Gwent Accordion Club, Saxforfun, the Marion Pearce School of Dance and the Ist Wentwood Scouts treated a packed house to a music and dance extravaganza.

Everyone performed superbly, including the compere for the evening, Councillor Gerard Hancock, who entertained the audience with one or two magic tricks he had up his sleeve.

Following their performance, Ist Wentwood Scouts were presented with a cheque for £500 from Langstone Community Council. Ian Henson, Group Scout Leader accepted the cheque from Alan Henderson, the Chairman of Langstone Community Council.

The prizes for the raffle were generously donated by the Celtic Manor Resort, the Hilton Hotel, the New Inn Motel, Hillcroft Garage, the Joyce Marshall Academy of Performing Arts, Langstone Community Council, David Rowe (Resident), Councillor Bryant and Councillor Manship.

The raffle proceeds will support the Village Hall restoration fund.

Mulled wine and mince pies then rounded off a truly magical evening.

Langstone Village Hall is available for hire.
