Has anyone else noticed the scruffy look of the village hall car park lately?

My first concern is the combustible waste stacked against the timber meeting room. This is not the first time this has happened. On the last occasion I contacted the council and complained. I explained this was a fire hazard and the loss of the village hall as an amenity would be a severe loss to the community. The threat of sending the photographic evidence to the newspaper may have motivated the council to move it. We will have to wait and see if the new crop of rubbish gets removed some time soon.

My second gripe is the sudden appearance of two white vans on the village hall car park. When did Old Chepstow Road and the car park become a commercial park? The transit I note is untaxed which is another issue. When the large box van parks on the road it restricts the already narrow lane which makes leaving Court View extremely hazardous. I have written to the Police and asking them to investigate.

If you are concerned like me then you may wish to make your concerns known. If we do nothing then nothing will be done

I am a trustee of the hall and note your comments about rubbish. We are digging deep trenches at the rear of the hall and had to dismantle sheds etc to allow access. This rubbish has now been removed. We have also had a problem with residents fly tipping on our car park. A loo appeared a short time ago would you believe! The car park belongs to the hall so NCC will only remove rubbish if we pay them to. I agree with you about the vans. The lorry and the Kruz van apparently belong to the same person. Numerous notes were left on his windscreen but were ignored. It was only when I wrote to the Kruz head office and threatened to tow it away that any action was taken to remove it. I also reported it as an abandoned vehicle to NCC. Numerous complaints were made about the lorry to the Police. I note it has now migrated to the lay by on Chepstow Road. I have reported it to VOSA and it will only be a matter of time before NCC tell him to remove it. We aim to resurface the car park when funds allow. We are a registered charity so money is extremely tight. The cost of resurfacing is likely to cost around 12k unfortunately. In the meantime we are knocking down the hut and building a block and mortar ext to the main hall.A sign has now been made warning residents that unauthorised vehicles will be towed away. It shoud be in place later this week.Hope this helps!
