From PACT:

The next 'Partners And Communities Together' (PACT) meeting that will be held at Langstone Village Hall at 7pm on Thursday 24th July 2008.

The meeting is designed to enable the community to learn of the work conducted within the community by the PACT, and to also allow the community to influence the Neighbourhood Policing Team's policing priorities for the next quarter.

I've attached a PACT Process docuemnt that explains what PACT is all about.

Anybody got any comments about last night's meeting please?

We planned for wife to attend, I finished work in time but our 18 month had different ideas. Was gone 9 before she finally settled for the night, don't think she tolerates night time heat too well.

Would appreciate comments from those that made it.

I've spoken to David Morgan, the Neighbourhood Policing Team sergeant for the Alway section and a mere seven poeple turned up for the meeting. That's pretty poor to say the least but I'm one of the many that didn't attend as well.

Come on folks, this is our area and the work the police do affects us all. Let's make the effort and double (as least) the attendance at the next meeting. Myself or my wife will definitely be there.

Comments from David about the meeting below:
A PowerPoint presentation was provided by Gwent Police which detailed the work that the Neighbourhood Polcei Team had undertaken in the ward for the last three months.

The policing priorities were decided at the meeting, and at the next PACT meeting, Gwent Police will provide a presentation on work undertaken in relation to these priorities.

They are.
Speeding across the ward.
High Visibility Patrols
Flytipping.
